the news and free channels are exactly what i wanted, except the rdio channels are very limited to musical variety especially the folk and the lack of any world music or classical choices

Product works but is hard to set up. Took several times before it connected to do the setup. Roku then gave me a number to setup my account. Went to my computer (in another room) to setup the account, the website told me to call a phone number. Called the number and got someone who did not understand English. After many times trying to tell him my address and e-mail, I gave up. Then the Roku timed out my number. I restarted Roku, got a new number and tried using my cell phone. This worked. Later when I tried to use Roku, the password was not correct. After having Roku send me a new password, it seems to work ok now.
I would recommend this to a friend!

It's nice, could be better

So far i'm enjoying my Roku. We had previously used an Apple TV, but got tired of waiting for Amazon Prime, so we switched when the Apple TV died. My biggest complaint is the menus/buttons aren't between apps. For example, in Netscape, it's the "ok" button to get to subtitles, but in Hulu, it's the "*" button. So you have to learn different interfaces, which is kind of a pain. In addition, I like the wide variety of apps, but it's almost a little too wide. There's some weird stuff out there. They definitely need a better way to find apps you're interested in. On the plus side, they have the big three streaming services: Netflix, Amazon Prime and Hulu. I like the top level interface (except for the occasional side ad). They have nice controls for hiding/showing some of the window icons. I'm a little disappointed (but not surprised) that the screen sharing option doesn't work for Macs. Too many buttons on the remote and I wish it was back lit. When we first got it, I kept hitting the home button instead of the "*", but I think I have the hang of it now...

Great features, easy to hook up to TV.

Bought this about 2 weeks or so ago, did finally get it hooked up to TV. but honestly have had no time to use it yet and see how it works. Was easy to hook up and set up following the directions. Hope to try it this week or weekend. Have friends and family who have it and love it, so am sure I will also.
