I visited with friends a few weeks ago. While I was there they showed me an Apple box that is too years old. I was looking for a product to use when the HP tablet was disconnected from the tv. We live in a coastal town with poor over the air programing and the public television where we moved from has a better offering. They spent time showing me the program selection. Within 10 minutes I could find anything we needed and so much more. I visited a local store here and couldn't find a Roku 3 or 4 which disappointed me. But the 2 is faster than you think it is. It excited my requirements and was eazy to plug and play. The only thing you will find is that many options you might want are pay to view or have ads (not to long though). We have a Netflix plan is the move didn't add any cost. But I could see programing might be a heavy cost if you have cable on top of extra fees. You will need to weigh that out for yourself. For now we have used the free programing along with Netflix and are happy.

Straight Forward Setup & Much To Choose From

Roku 2 (2015) was easily setup and operational. The hard part is reviewing and finding all the channels you might enjoy. Long term, my goal is to find the economics by using Roku channel providers with subscriptions versus my cable company costs and subscriptions.

Happy with my ROKU 2 player(s). Have cancelled cable as a result .My only complaint is the remote. It's so simple - it's confusing.

Flawed Design

The WiFi direct feature interfered with my WiFi. No possible way to change WiFi channels. Had to return it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I purchased the Roku 2 a month or so ago, it's good for Netflix, but some of the channels I want are not on there, disappointing. I think you should include an HDMI cable with it, I have had to try two different ones before I got one to work. Also, I think instead of a screen saver, you should have the ability to turn the box off (if there is a way, I haven't found/read it yet).
