Worked perfectly right out of the box! Check connected to my wireless network flawlessly!
The only issue I have is NOT with my Roku, it is with the services! These boxes are tauted as a viable alternative to Dish/Direct/cable tv.
I found no service that would stream a currently showing NCIS, Blacklist, homeland, blindspot or other network programming! Can't even get Fox News Channel, so how does these "SERVICES" save money, or eliminate the need for dish/direct/cable tv?
nice for some movies, but several of the services want you to buy/rent the movie on top of the service subscription fee! NOT TOO COOL!! What TRULY needs to happen is a comprehensive service with ala-carte program selection! There us SO MUCH GARBAGE out there that is simply unfit for human consumption, that the "providers" force you to open pay for that you never watch!
The Roku does what it says it will do, and does it WELL, the service providers SUCK AT WHAT IS PROVIDED! Perhaps what I want will grow, but for now disappointed :( !

Roku 2 will only play HBO NOW in Stereo

Roku 2 will only play HBO NOW in Stereo and not it Dolby 5.1. I purchased this unit about 2 weeks ago, because my wife likes to listen to WUMB out of Boston on the streaming service Tune-in Radio. It works great at that and just about everything else. I cancelled my subscription of HBO on my old Apple TV and started a subscription on the Roku 2 player. When I first started HBO NOW the audio signal was not in any Dolby format. After several hours of trouble shooting, I discover there is some type of interface problem between Apple, Adobe, and the Netflix interface. Hence,I had to restart my subscription to HBO NOW on the Apple player so I view HBO programs in surround 5.1. Aside from that the Roku work great.

I was hesitant on buying a Roku because I was skeptical that it would function properly. I was so tired of paying the outrageous cable prices that I finally made the leap to Roku and I am SO HAPPY I DID! I'm never going back to cable-EVER. Roku has everything I need an more and only a fraction of what comcast wanted me to pay! I love it so much, I bought a second Roku for my bedroom :)

Make it Roku!!

I just bought my Roku about two weeks ago and I am asking myself: why I wait so long? It's affordable, easy to set up, easy to use and so friendly user that I consider myself a Roku savvy!! I have so many entertainment options that now, I hardly watch regular TV. If you decide to go to media steaming, no need to consider anything other device... make it Roku!!
I would recommend this to a friend!
