Disappointed

I purchased the Roku 2 for my daughter as a Christmas gift and it does not work on her TV. I contacted customer service and they said to try a different HDMI cable because the unit is not compatible with some HDMI cables . We switched the HDMI cable and it still didn't work. The customer service rep informed me that the unit is probably not compatible with the TV because it is older. I wish I would have known that before I bought it. Returning it for a refund.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Clean Stream

I originally had a Roku and was happy with it for several years. Needing a device for my upstairs TV, I deciding to try FireStick and Chrome Cast. I found Roku far superior. The Apps are on par with other devices but what really sold me was the streaming was more seamless with less buffering and the Roku did not drop the stream like Firestick did. Chrome Cast is still great if you are casting but does not work as stand alone device to stream from the internet.
Happy with my Roku

Fast and easy

Bought this 2 weeks ago after researching fora few days. Used to have Apple TV, the newer models from 3 years ago. This roku is impressively faster and easier to use. Set up was the easiest I think I've ever encountered. Highly recommend

Speed and Quality

Upgraded from Roku 1 (Stick). Noticeable increase in speed loading programs and no quality (picture) issues. Navigating menus is also quicker. Highly recommended even if you have a Smart TV. This beats that from my experience.

We received this for Christmas and have been using it nonstop. It is easy to use and has so much free content and subscription shows that are amazing quality. Makes me want to cut my cable off.

Free TV

I am happy with my Roku 2. I didn't realize that the volume control didn't work until it was too late to return it. I watch what is free, and it is a relief not to have those horrendous cable bills. I may buy another for my other TV. Would like to see larger print of the selections; probably because my eyes and TV aren't so great.

So far so good. My very, very non-techie husband is up and running using our new Roku 2. He is a movie buff and frustrated with cable programming, and now loving Netflix. So far he has "marathoned' several series and watched lots of other shows, AND has learned how to go back and forth to DirectTV. This is major. However, we did have to also buy a HDMI splitter b/c we only had one jack. Thanks Roku
