Good Features, Room for Improvement

I won the Roku 2 as a door prize at an event. Since our WDTV has been locking up, this was a welcome addition. Having used it for a week now, I have come to learn it can't play ISO files and many of the files that work on the WDTV do not work on the Roku. Also, you are not able to copy content from a computer to the hard drive connected to the Roku via the network. This is not convenient.

It's been almost a month since purchase and I have really enjoyed it. I actually canceled a lot of my cable channels because I was able to view more thru my Roku"

Lots of different steaming channels

I bought this about 2 weeks ago. I have used approximately 5-10 of the different apps so far. Some free, some paid. There is tons of content to pick from and plenty of different shows/movies to satisfy anyone's craving. The remote is a little sensitive because you have to point it directly at the roku versus in the vicinity

Does not work with Netflix

If you plan to use it with Netflix, you should Google "Roku Netflix 25%" before you buy. Everyone blames everyone else, but regardless of whose fault it is, it doesn't work. The rest of it is just fine, however.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Easy to use

I would have liked some simple instructions in the box, but by experimenting was able to work it out. It took a while to figure out what was free, what cost $, & what we could stream.

Roku stick gets a C-

We have two of the basic roku 1 and we love them! When we added another tv to the downstairs den, we went with the streaming stick. The first one did not work. (even after 2 hours with technical support) We returned it to the big box store and got another one. The remote worked sometimes. It was most frustrating. We then returned it and upgraded to the roku 2 and cannot see much difference in it and the 1.

Connects to apps in half the time of my Sony Smart Bluray player. Wish I had gotten a Roku sooner.
