Much faster than my old Roku.

I am enjoying my new Roku 2. My old Roku seemed to be getting slow and froze up from time to time. I like the fact that I can use ethernet cord for this one, not just wifi. Using it now with wired connection and it's really fast!

Great replacement for old, heavily used Roku 2 XD

My 3.5 year old, heavily used Roku 2 XD was showing signs of age. It started to occasionally ignore the Roku remote after long usage (requiring reboot...). It also occasionally paused whenever I pressed the volume buttons on a non-Roku audio receiver remote (that it had never responded to for 3.5 years...). So, I knew my old Roku 2 XD was likely in need of replacement.
My new Roku 2 has all of the same features, plus a USB port and Ethernet port. It works great and responds to both my new and old Roku remotes.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Would be great, but HDCP messages won't go away

When it works, it's great. HDCP unauthorized messages cause me to unplug box all the time for the content to appear. I have tried three different cables and have the fastest internet possible.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

have a roku 3 in master bedroom and wanted to put roku sticks in the kids rooms, the sticks were horrible the remote would work for ten seconds then not respond, sync it , it would work, then not respond, sent those back and bought roku 2's. Excellent response time, same as roku 3 now that 2 has a new as fast processsor. the remote is IR not RF, but they work for the kids just fine.

Nothing new or great about it

I bought to expand viewing to second TV in kids room. Simple to connect and that is all I found good. he wifi keeps showing as connected with excellent signal but can never stream anything. Even few times it did connect keep reloading, cutting off, etc. Finally used built in wifi of TV for netflix and youtube. That worked fine. Do not understandwhy it works so good and Roku fails

I bought Roku based on a relatives recommendation as I'm very unhappy with Comcast cable so began searching for options. Roku is easy to set up and gives me freedom of choice without all the monthly fees. Love it!

Without Sling TV...I don't know

I like this little unit, but if it wasn't for Sling TV it would be sort of useless if you are cutting the cord with cable. In all, it's a great price (much cheaper than Apple TV) and it gives you more options.

Very happy overall

I initially purchased the Amazon Firestick and after connecting to my wifi, it continually dropped the connection. It was awful. I received this as a gift for a replacement hoping it would connect and actually stay connected. Well, it has performed beautifully! The set up was easy and the menu is well thought out and easy to navigate.
