exactly what I was hoping for

I recently decided to try out this whole streaming television/movies idea instead of dealing with overpriced satellite companies. I first decided to go with an Amazon Fire Stick and ended up sending it back the day after I had it. It would not connect with my wireless internet properly. I ended up following what I probably should have done in the first place and got the Roku 2 - I did have to change some settings on my router in order to make it work correctly (which I figured out via googling) but now it works perfectly. Considering a second one for my bedroom as I think it works great for the price.
I would recommend this to a friend!

the free stations are not that good

I got the Roku as a gift, but it seems you need to pay to see a decent movie. Everything costs more money. I have cable for that. I was going to get rid of cable, but I need to keep it now as the free stations are kind of lousy.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have zero, complaints. This thing is awesome. We cut out satellite and don't have cable, with this unit, there is no need for either. We watch what we want, when we want, and little or no commercial interference.

Compact and useful

I replaced a substandard streaming device and the Roku is so much better. There is however a suggestion I would like to see implemented: a keyboard instead of the arrow keys would make selection process more efficient.

Better Than Apple

I am very satisfied with the Roku 2 streamer compared to the Apple device I had been using for only a few months. Apple interacted properly with screen and icons but its PLAY function for Netflix was basically inoperative without a lot of extra steps such as disconnecting power, sign out/sign in, router button, etc. Roku in comparison connects to PLAY without fail.

I bought this to play Sling TV. I was having a lot of problems trying to play Sling on my Xbox One and someone at Sling told me to try Roku and am I glad I did Sling streams so much better on Roku and there are so many more channels. I would recommend this to everyone.
