I love old time movies as well as new ones!! The Roku allows me to watch old times any time I want! The roku is easy to use and at a price I can handle! Lots of free programs! Jack

Great cable alternative

I bought this to replace our cable to save money. It works great. Easy hookup to cable in port or if you have the stick fits right into the HDMI port. Then just follow the on screen instructions for set up and you're done. We have Netflix and Hulu which we can watch all our shows on. Only issue is wish they had more channels for kids. Wish they had the nick jr channel

I have not been able to navigate thru all the possibilities Roku has to offer, but the picture quality is great. I also don't have the greatest internet speed connection, but for the little bid of streaming I have done so far, I watched an entire movie the film did not buffer once, for it's entire 2 hrs of play. I have not been able to figure out how to go from Roku to local television, but then I haven't given it much time yet. One thing I found to be a minus, nowhere in the instruction is a mention of when your TV turns purple. That was exactly what happened to me, when I hooked up my Roku, no more color. I thought my TV had shorted out and broke. Went and bought a brand new TV and while waiting for delivery I continued to do more research on my new Roku and came across a link explaining the situation about "if you TV turns purple", with instructions to fix the problem. Unplug the television as that would take care of the problem and bring back the color to your TV. THIS COULD HAVE EASILY ADDED TO THE SETUP INSTRUCTIONS.
Once completely set up, I'll be glad to follow up with more of an update and a more accurate rating. .

Very happy, opens up many options, have only used the netflix but intend to use other apps, very easy, fast, clear. Excellent device !!!

Happy to be away from expensive cable. Should of switched years ago!! The only channel I wish I was able to receive is Nick Jr.. I am only able to access one episode from each show otherwise I need to pay for them.

Great for my needs

Purchased the Roku 2 to have content in the back office because we aren't in there on a constant basis. This is a great product that works well. I discovered that I needed a cable service to be able to access some of the channels, like NBC. I would not consider this product a cable replacement, but it is certainly a way to control cable costs, by allowing us to choose what we want to watch. We are on a satellite service for internet; so, there was an issue with buffering on some streaming channels. We haven't tried watching movies yet.

Great Roku unit!

I bought the Roku 2 after using the Roku 1 for over a year. Roku 2 I like so much better because I am able to use the headphones when watching late night TV without disturbing anyone else. The set up was easy and the programs are crisp and clear. This is a great buy!
