It actually does what it says it will

I have had the following TV services : Com-Cast , Apple , and Roku. Recently my wife's Apple TV began giving us trouble called Apple could not resolve issue other than recommend a ne w rig--so I bought a second Roku! And I am loving both Rokus.

Buggy

We've had our Roku for two weeks now and it's a little buggy. Check that. We returned a Roku that we owned for 8 weeks for the one we now have and both were a little buggy. Same model, same bugs.
Pros: I don't want to come off as a hater, in fact I really like this device. It has tons of content and is very customizable. I also use an Apple TV device and I feel the Roku surpasses it in content and custumizability (is that a word? I'm going with it.)
Cons: Not many cons here. In fact only one. But a big one for me. Ready?
It starts up on its own. Not in just the blinky light kind of way start up. But the full on, high volume, show starting start up.
Example: I was sitting on the couch talking to my mom when I hear unfamiliar theme music playing from my speakers and suddenly I have to explain to my 70 year old mother that the gunfire n the background is not coming from my apartment and she doesn't have to call 911 it's just my Roku acting up. Again.

The series that started is not one I ever watched and as I tried to get rid of it and change to something else, the series' ghostly images still haunted my menu.
You see, this sort of thing happens very frequently and unexpectedly. It's annoying to say the least.
Now, the woman at the big electronics store I purchased this device from is leaning toward demonic possession. But I would like to think that the good people at Roku are savvy enough to make sure their devices don't fall under the control of the devil. I had hoped this was just a bug with the first device but seeing as it is happening with the second device as well, I'm not so sure.
So if you like a lot of content and don't mind a device that will start playing anything it feels like at any time then the Roku 2 is for you. As for me, I'm keeping a watchful eye and my receipt on hand in case it continues to act up.

I bought this product to be able to stream Netflix since we canceled our satellite bill. I find the product average since it is small and affordable. The thing I find odd is there is no on/off switch/button. Also for some reason I end up having to unplug then replug my roku to be able to find my internet signal even though my computer will say I have full signal in the room. I do like the main page with it showing my different options.

bought a couple months ago, to get rid of cable. works but losses connection constantly and it's the only devise other then a phone connected to wireless next work

Great for Anime

I bought this a month ago for my Funimation stream and love it ended up subscribing to Anime Network as well. I would recommend this for any streaming channels like Netflix and VuDu along with the two I mentioned above.

Easy to use, fast and comprehensive

The Roku 2 we bought is great. We love the search function which looks at multiple services so you don't have to go to each one individually. The response time of Roku 2 is by far the best feature. Way faster than my "smart" tv.
