Great Smart TV Player!

I had a Sony/Google TV player since 2012. This year Google stopped supporting Google TV and Sony declined upgrading Google TV to Android TV. Google and Sony didn't care about abandoning their customers. So, on Black Friday I bought a Roku 2. Quality-wise it is five times better (streaming, ease of use, ...) and channel-wise it is fifty times better. (The only channel missing is a Web browser.) I am glad I was forced to make the switch: abandoning Sony/Google and going with Roku!

We decided to cut the cord to cable after some poor service recently and too the plunge with the Roku 2. It's been about 10 days and the experience so far has been painless. The Roku took minutes to set up, easier than the OTA antenna we also set up. Thanks for providing a great service and making it easy!

i bought a roku 2 to replace my roku 1 i bought 3 years ago thats been messing up for a year. i got the roku 2 and had to return it for another one because the remote wouldn't work most of the time. the new one works great.

Dropped signal.

I have had this for a while and used it infrequently because I had a satellite subscription. As I gravitated more toward streaming, I began noticing more often dropped Wi-Fi signal. When I decided to go straight streaming, I bought a Roku3 and hard wired it to my modem (the Roku2 does not have and Ethernet port) I have had no problem since. I recommend spending a little extra and upgrading to the Roku3.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
