Very user friendly

Roku was very easy to set up - especially with Roku's step-by-step website guide - and the Roku remote is very simple to use. I bought a smart TV - which I found to be not so smart and the remote was not user friendly - Roku is a much better solution.
I would recommend this to a friend!

My wife and I decided to cut the cable 1.5 years ago. that decision involved purchasing an OTA antenna and two roku 1 units. One for the kids room and one for the living room. about four months ago we purchased a "smart TV" for our bedroom and found out smart TV's aren't so smart. Ours was constantly buffering and losing wifi connection. We went through two wireless routers before it suddenly registered in my slow gray matter that I wasn't having this problem with anything other than the "dumb tv" and I decided the way to solve it was a new roku for that tv. I am extremely happy with the two original roku's and ecstatic with the new roku 2. I considered going to a roku 3 but after consideration determined the 3 had features that I personally would never need so roku 2 it was and I couldn't be happier. No more lost wifi connection no buffering at the best point in the movie and it is much faster than the roku 1's. Don't misunderstand I am very happy with both the 1"s and the 2. Having used the 2 however if I ever need to replace one I will definitely go back with the roku 2. Hands down the best unit I have found. Extremely easy to set up. Just plugged in the power and the HDMI cable to the dumb tv and within three minutes It found the wifi programed itself, turned my Dumb tv into a smart tv and I was watching Netflix. Maybe my tv was smart. I could never figure out how they programmed it to know when a climactic scene was coming and caused it to loose connection or rebuffer. It never happened during a dull moment. Now it doesn't happen at all.

Great Streaming

I've been using the original purple Roku for a couple of years and had some buffering issues when streaming Sling TV. The Roku 2 is a step up in streaming ability. Buffering problems are nearly non-existent. I'm very pleased.

Greatest Little Media Player Out There!

For our anniversary I bought my husband a Roku TV. I was so impressed by the number of streaming channels that I bought this Roku 2 Streaming Media Player for our older TV. Now when my husband is watching sports can watch all of my favorite streaming channels

Easy to use

My husband and I prefer to use the Roku over cable. We enjoy watching tv series from start to finish without having to wait months for the ending. : ) We also enjoy the convenience of watching a movie without the interruption of commercials and being able to pause when we need to. Our 4yr old granddaughter enjoys the cartoons and can easily use the Roku remote.

had my second ROKU delivered a few days ago. the remote only works when two or three feet from the base unit - very disappointing - previous one worked perfectly and was a one of best features.
