this was a Christmas gift and absolutely love it !!
I was using my old Wii and Chromecast and happy to see that Roku works so much better and simple to use.

Just What I Needed

Recently got a Time Warner Cable account and needed access to channels in a bedroom. The Roku 2 and TWC App were just the ticket! I have access to all my cable channels without having to pay monthly for an extra set top box.

I like that I can stream all of my subscription and free media from one device. There are tons of free movies I've never heard of to explore. The only negative is that though there are literally thousands of channels, most of the content is shared by most. Then again it's free, so choose the channels your like and enjoy.

I had a very old Roku and eventually the company had to say 'no more.' It was ooooold. I used a Chromecast for a while. It stopped working. I spent an hour and a half on the phone with Google Support. Nothing productive came of it. Bought my Roku 2 because I loved my old one. I have not regretted it once. I love having a remote and the option to use my phone. Some of the channel apps are great. I'm able to watch CBS News without relying on my antenna. I didn't give this the full 5 stars because: 1) there are dedicated app buttons on the remote. One of the companies just went under, so I have a dead button. 2) the remote for *this* player is sensitive and must 'look' exactly at each other.
HBO Go for liiiiiiiiiiiife.
