To have a good streaming experience high speed Internet with at least 50 mgbs will be needed.

Great Media Player

My Roku is the best media player that I've tried and I've had several. Tremendous number of entertaining and educational channels. The remote control is very responsive to the touch and allows you to quickly move between channels and functions. All of my other media devices will be collecting dust, now that I've moved up to Roku!

COULD BE GREAT IF MY WIFI SIGNAL WERE BETTER

At the moment, I can't get a NetFlix file to play for more than five minutes without stopping to download. I tried unsuccessfully to boost my signal with a D-Link Wireless Range Extender. Since the router/MODEM supplied by AT&T does not have a WPS button, automatic installation did not work. I worked for about two hours with a D-Link technician to perform a manual installation. Although it appeared to have installed, I was not able to get satisfactory performance. Can you suggest a solution?

Overall great gift, with a few minor flaws.

I received the Roku 2 streaming device as a gift over the holidays. The quick plug and play functionality of this device is very appealing, I was able to get it fully functioning in less than five minutes! The clean and simple user interface is incredible as well. You are able to quickly scroll through apps with very little latency, and sort them to your preference. I was happy to receive this device, but there are a few small parts that I have to poke at.
Every so often some shows on Netflix will hold still at a 25% loaded screen, and nothing else will happen. Although I can switch to a different episode, and it will load perfectly fine. It's not the same episode every time, it happens randomly as I have tested this. I want to say it's just a network issue, but I never have had this issue on any user machines that stream Netflix. Maybe it's the app? I'm not too certain though.
Also I am not too certain if you are able to custom map the Netflix - Amazon - Radio - Sling - buttons on the Roku 2 remote. If not, then there to be a consideration if you'd use all of the remotes features before the initial purchase. Maybe they should leave them as black rubber buttons with 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 printed, or A- B - C - D rather than imprinting a logo on the remote that might just never be touched. However if you can custom map the remote keys, that would be excellent. I would love to hit the Radio button on the remote, and have the Pandora application open up.
4/5 Overall strictly due to there being two very minor flaws in the device. I do use my Roku on a daily basis, this review is written as positive feedback with a small portion of constructive criticism.
