Great player & great price.

I just upgraded from a Roku stick because I wanted something faster and more responsive. The Roku 2 (2015) has the same internals as the Roku 3 but it lacks the headphone jack on the remote and voice search. I don't need these features so I decided to go with the Roku 2 to save some money and it exceeded my expectations! It's blazing fast compared to the stick and Roku in general is much more convenient than connecting my laptop to the TV.
Here are a few examples of how much faster it is. I watch almost everything with subtitles (CC). One thing that really impresses me is when I rewind or push the back button, the subtitles pop up instantly. On the Roku stick it would take several seconds for them to kick back in. The channels also start up much faster so instead of looking at the Netflix/Hulu etc. logo and waiting you can get to the channel and start watching.
Now that I have the Roku 2, I highly recommend it for anyone who wants a simple, yet powerful streaming player that's easy to use.

Love My Roku

I received my second Roku as a Christmas present and I love it. My only concern is that it feels like it's overheating. It is hot even when not in use. My previous Roku never did this so I hope there isn't a flaw in my new one.

I received my Roku 2 as a Christmas gift and it was definitely my favorite gift! I had a Sony blu ray with built in WiFi and Sony entertainment. At first it worked just fine, then I had nothing but troubles with it streaming anything. I pay for a subscription to Netflix and could rarely watch anything on the Sony. My daughter bought this for me and I LOVE it! It streams well, it was easy to set up and I love all of the different apps available to add to it. Easy to use also. My only complaint is that the lettering on some of the apps, especially Hulu, that describes the shows is so tiny I can barely read it from my chair so I need to stand up and get closer to the TV to read descriptions of what's on. Needs improvement in that area. Other than that it's a great product. There's so much that's available to watch. Wish I would have bought one a long time ago.

Replaced my old Wii for Netflix and am enjoying all the added channels to choose from. Best $$ spent in 2015 ;)

Quick setup! Need another device to confirm apps

This has been a good product so far. Easy to "add" apps to the ROKU player through your online account. However, you need a computer, tablet or phone to "register" many of the apps and have them appear on your ROKU menu. There seem to be many apps to choose from. Wish they had a few more, such as DirecTV, FOX Sports 1, like many tablets and phones do.
Also, and I read other apps that had this issue, but when trying to use the WatchESPN app, I got a purple screen with no video, only audio. Most every time I have to unplug the ROKU and plug it back it for the video to be seen.
