As long as your power doesn't go off and back on..

I was extremely happy with the Roku until workmen flipped my power off and back on. Now it won't recognize me. I have tried every suggestion on the Internet from simple to reinstall and nothing works. I just got it for Christmas so I am sad...
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Performance upgrade

I bought a Roku 2 to replace a Roku 1 that was in the bedroom. The Roku 1 just could not perform at the distance located from the wireless router. It kept stopping to load, (the little red progress line), It would occasionally need to be powered off/on to continue. Now that a Roku 2 has replaced it, in the same location, performance is fantastic. Fast, no buffering, no stop/starting, always available. I am very happy with my purchase, but since I already have several other Roku boxes in my house, the performance improvement is not a surprise.

Good Alternative

A good alternative to cable. We always watched DVR'd shows and were getting sick of the movie selections on a full cable package. We bought a Roku and like it better.

I bought the roku 2, and I am very satisfied with the purchase. The unit has exceeded my expectations. There are so many features, apps and options, that I have not had time to look at them all.

I absolutely recommend getting I've only had the roku 2 about a week now and it's awesome. If your looking to cut the cord this is the best way to do it I can get my local news and all my shows that we enjoy to watch. If your thinking of getting one do it.

A great excuse to finally cut the cable

I was looking for an excuse to cut the cable. The Roku 2 finally gave me the excuse. It has the usual apps including Netflix and Hulu. But it also has t.v. network apps including ABC and NBC. Easy to setup and use.
