Blazing fast. My new Roku 2 is FAST

Bought to replace one of our older model Roku HD players. It's footprint is the same and uses very little power but is so much faster. Plays short clips on the movie/ show informational pages which is really cool. No waiting several minutes when fast forwarding or rewinding.
I bought because we were trying out SlingTV and the performance when changing channels was unacceptable.
Was up in less than 5 minutes with an existing account

Easy Navigation, great service selection.

Roku 2 as a Christmas gift. Very easy to setup, and I am enjoying it. Would like to easily change the remote function buttons (i.e. rdio) when no longer do they provide service, or if you would like to select your own favorites. Maybe some stickers to overlay on the buttons. Also, maybe some simple TV control (volume, on/ off). I have taken an older TV were the remote has be lost, that feature would enhance my selection of internet TV devices.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Smart TV

I purchased Roku a few weeks ago. I received a new TV for Christmas in 2014. It's a great TV, however; it isn't a smart TV. Now with Roku, it is! I love all the movies and TV series I can now watch. Sometimes it's slow on streaming and interrupts what I'm watching, but it doesn't happen very often. I love my new Roku 2!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Not as great as I expected

I bought this a couple weeks ago after initially purchasing a Roku stick. I assumed that having it hooked up to the internet as opposed to using wi-fi would result in better functionality. Our Roku stick is on a different level than the router, so sometimes the channels are blurry or freeze up. I haven't really had many problems with this device, but I wouldn't say it's that much better than the stick. Probably wasn't worth the money. I should have just gotten another Roku Stick. Plus, with the stick, you can point the remote anywhere. With the Roku TV, you have to point it right at the unit or the remote doesn't work.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I purchased a roku for my basement tv. received emails telling me I could sign up for some free trials and that they sent codes. No codes anywhere to be found, plus, when watching the free movie channel, it stops playing and says "retrieving" and then starts up again. No way to talk to someone. would not recommend this product to anyone!

great potential but still has some bugs

I purchased the Roku 2 about a week ago. I bougt it primarily to access the Sling TV app 8 signed up for. The people at Sling TV recommended Roku 3, but at the store it didn't look like the 3 had that much more feature wise then a fancier remote with voice search and headphones for a rather large jump in price. So I opted for the Roku 2.
Online reviws indicated that Rokus suffer from buffering inturruptions during busier times and lockups. In the short weeks I experienced both or these a couple of times. Although these are annoying they do not seem intolerable YET. I do feel some of improvement is needed in that area although I'm sure the makers will blame it on the cable provider ( which could be most of the problem ) The short list or repeated and often commercials is very annoying but I'm hoping that as this catches in more sponsors will add to the list of commercials so it won't be necessary to watch the same two or three commercials for and hour every 10 minutes. Although I believe this is the TV of the future and generally support it. I just hope I can live with these obvious annoyances, and that they don't get worse.
