So glad I got one!

I've had my Roku 2 for about a month and I love it! I initially bought Fire TV at a friend's recommendation, but after just one day I took it back to get a Roku 2 and I'm so glad I did! I like the layout of the Roku much better; it is a lot easier to go from app to app and find various content. I mainly use the Netflix, Hulu and CBS All Access apps and they all have great quality! I would highly recommend this product!

Great device but..

We bought this shortly before Christmas. We've had the streaming stick for a while and have really enjoyed it, so we bought the Roku 2 for our main TV. It has been great, except for freezing up occasionally. Tonight though, it froze and the remote stopped working IN THE MIDDLE OF THE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME!!!! Thankfully, I was able to reset the box and pull the remote up on my phone. Pretty sure I gained some grey hairs...
I would recommend this to a friend!

sound outputs changed between original 2 and new 2

bought this to replace a R2 that quit working because of heat. when I got it out of the box I learned there is no longer a sound output other than hdmi, which means it can no longer be hooked up to my non-hdmi surround sound. that was a little disappointing. not replacing my older but good quality sound system at this point. wish the
box had shown the outputs, I'd have upgraded if I'd known.

I decided to take the plunge and finally connect to some of the recommended streaming services. I read reviews on Amazon Fire Stick, Google Chromecast, Apple TV and Roku and decided that Roku fit my needs and budget best. I couldn't be happier with my decision. I love the many channel options in addition to the streaming services like Amazon and Netflix. So happy I made the leap and chose Roku!

Love my Roku 2! Super fast! Great product overall. I bought it for one reason only, to use the SLING app. I don't have cable and still don't, no need for it. No regrets!
