It does not work outside the US. Even though programmes like Netflix is available internationally you cannnot download the app to use.
Kinda useless if you buy online from abroad.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

my son told us about the Roku,we had never heard about it. now we have 2 and they are great. works great we get all kinds of channels and enjoy them a lot.

I've only had this a week, but am extremely pleased with my "Better than Cable" new over the air DTV antenna with 38 channels, plus adding Roku 2 & SlingTV give me more than I can watch for only $20 more per month above my Internet Service Fee. I saved over $40 per month my first month including all the Roku and the extra subscriptions and get almost everything I want.

I bought and used this Roku 2 for 2 weeks. So far, I am happy with my choice ! It's easy to set up and use, high speed with a lot of channels to view. Plus some fee movies trial channel which I and my children can watch a lot of movies now !
