Even though I have Netflix, Amazon Prime, cable TV with 4 premium channels, I bought my first ROKU for access to Acorn programs. Now I'm on my second one, having "worn out" the first with watching something every day.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Easy to set up and to use

I bought this to replace a dvd sreaming device that died. I like how much faster it is to access the streamed items, but I wish it was more explicit about which offerings are FREE.

Using it for a couple of weeks now...BUT it is So Slow to connect to Netflix...
Not sure why..but I have seen it operate elsewhere much faster...

Bypass the "Smart" TV

Bought a smart TV but could not launch some of my favorite premiums. Went back to my old buddy Roku to get what I need. Roku also plays the channels much clearer than the "smart" versions installed on the TV - go for it, you won't be sorry!

Bought it loved it but it would shut off for now reason.Tokok it they didn't have another one and now don't have the money to buy a new one

I bought Roku 2 for my mother; she had an older model that she and I both loved. We were having WiFi problems at her assisted living and I hoped that the newer one would be more stable. Silly me. The WiFi continued to unstable so I had the old Roku reinstalled on the wired internet. The reason we chose the old one is that programs on the new one began so soon that it frustrated Mother. She needs things to move slowly, not faster. I believe the Roku 2 is a wonderful product, but not if you are almost 90 and getting slow. Having said that, Roku is a WONDERFUL product and I highly recommend it.
