I bought this a month ago because I was tired of paying those sky high prices cable companies charge. My son recommended that I buy a Roku and I'm so glad I did, I love it so much, it is very user friendly and easy to use. I wish I would have done this a year ago, when my son first told me about it. I will never go back to cable, I highly recommend this to anyone...young or older.

I've had my Roku hooked up for about a week now and, so far I love it! We have plenty of channels for the whole family. I'm so glad to be rid of cable. Thanks Roku!

Roku Purchase

I purchased a Roku 2 a couple of weeks ago and am very happy with it! If you are going to cut the cable cord, this is the best way to do it. I wish I had done this long before now. Easy to set up and so much to watch. You won't miss your high priced cable/satellite service or the bill for it.

Easy set up, and menu. Problem is I have an external hard drive full of movies. When hooked up to Roku not recognized by Roku. Inserted small thumb drive next, recognized and played but no sound. Very disappointed with this. Searched on line and found numerous reports of this problem.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great device at a great price

Bought this a few weeks ago and now have used it enough to comment.
The price and ease of install is fantastic. Of all the players out there, we felt this was the best choice as it wasn't biased against any particular provider and a few online sites recommended it. Connects easily to wifi or wired and the HDMI connection is seamless.
The only issue with it was playing youtube after downloading the app - the processor isn't fast enough to decode HTLM5 seamlessly so there are some glitches which as anyone would attest, makes it un-useable. Apparently the Roku3 handles this effortlessly but that was at a price point I didn't want to jump to. That's the only issue.
