Faster than the Older Models

This is our 3rd Roku. The other 2 we have are older versions (Roku HD). The new Roku 2 has a few more in channel features and runs a bit faster than the older models.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Do your homework

This "idea" is great if you can get past it's short comings. If you're not picky about local channel availability, the need for cable subscription w/ some apps, and the misleading audio format (digital audio DID NOT work w/ any apps I chose). Then Roku will work for you. Make sure you can get O.T.A. reception w/ an HD antenna for local broadcast. If you're trying to "cut the cord", sacrifices will probably be a possibility.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Love my Roku it has a wide variety of films and TV programs. The only thing that I don't care for is that they do not let you know what language the movies are in before you click to start watching ., other than that I am very satisfied with my purchase.

pretty easy set up

Everything is kind of as expected. A few gripes though:
1. The browsing of content in channels is inefficient. Not that easy to peruse. Especially with channels with lots of content such as YouTube. Maybe I just haven't figured everything out yet. But if that's the case, it means it's not that easy to learn since I've had it hooked up for about a month now.
2. I wish there was an easy way to browse the web through this. I haven't found it yet. I think Google's Chromecast allows this easily. If I had known, I would have gone with the google brand.

I don't know why we waited so long to try the Roku - perhaps simply because we were not aware of all the Roku has to offer. We are very pleased with our Roku2!

buffers too much

I love the idea of the Roku player and I have subscribed to Sling TV in order to cut the cable cord since I still love live sports. But every single high profile sporting match brings slow internet speeds and I am not able to watch without issues. I hope that it will improve but I'm worried.
