Good but don't like the constant freezing

I got this device because I down graded my cable to basic and I was told that Roku was a good streaming device. My only complaint is that it tends to freeze up and stall on shows that I'm watching which causes me to reboot!.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This is the second roku we've purchased. Now that the cable company requires a decoder box for each TV, we've decided to switch over to roku. The wireless connectivity and excellent UI make it easy to hook up and use. There are many free options - and of course - you can easily configure the Amazon Prime and Netflix channels. The UI is much better and faster than our other 'smart' devices.
The only fly in the ointment is a lack of an ethernet connector for those who would prefer not to use wifi. Older versions had one, the new roku 2 does not. We had to move our oldest roku to the family room because that location had too much interference for wifi to work properly.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Love this device!

I got a Roku 2 because I was unsatisfied with the streaming quality and app selection of my Samsung SmartTV. The TV had a limited number of apps, and most were poorly designed for use with a remote and viewing from across the room. Nearly all of the streaming services I use have issues on the Samsung, either constantly buffering or delivering poor image clarity (the fact that there were any exceptions to this was also odd since it it means there are serious discrepancies between the quality of streaming services coming from the same device). I have not experienced any of these issues since switching to the Roku 2! The interface design in beautiful and easy to use, the Roku remote is incredible responsive, I no longer have to wait for my TV to "warm-up" before accessing streaming content, I have access to a far larger selection of apps and content, and hardly ever have to buffer (the one exception to this has been CBS Access, which I have only recently tried out since it wasn't available to me before, the CBS app seems to have some issues delivering high quality images consistently... however, I am hopefully that this issue gets resolved). All in all, I strongly recommend this device. I love it, and plan to have Roku for all my devices in the future!

Very impressed, but...

I bought the Roku 2 for my kids for Christmas and was immediately impressed. I was surprised at the amount of available channels, especially the free ones. I gave up 2 of my 3 cable boxes, so the Roku immediately saved me money. I am happy with the Roku, but there is one major flaw. It has a tendency to freeze up or drop the connection to my cable provider. This is especially frustrating while I'm watching sports. I'm hoping an upgrade to my router/modem will solve it. If not I may go back to cable boxes.
