I purchased the original ROKU several years ago and recently upgraded to the ROKU 2 for HD streaming. I highly recommend any of their products.

It can be very confusing, hard to remember where the shows I liked were located.
Wish there was a symbol on the channels that actually require a subscription! It says its "top free" channels, but sometimes you need either a tv provider or to subscribe. Maybe put a "T" and "S" for those channels.

We are so happy with our Roku!. We bought it last month and are now able to stream shows from Amazon (I've been a prime customer for over a year). And we love Pandora!

Disgusted by the cost of cable television, we recently opted out, but I was distressed at the thought of not being able to watch AMC, HGTV or the History Channel. Saw an ad for SlingTV and they were offering a free ROKU 2 w/3 mo purchase. Easiest decision I've ever made ... we have been using the ROKU stick on our bedroom TV for months. The ROKU 2 is on our big screen TV in the great room and it is AWESOME! NO MORE outrageous CABLE bill for us :-)

For a casual TV watcher the Roku 2 is great

If you have good internet then this can be a great entertainment device.
You can get free channels but they're mostly not something you'd be watching everyday. Most of the channels require you to sign in to your cable/satellite provider to watch anything.
I have Amazon prime, Netflix and Google play as my main channels. I've been watching the Olympics okay, the live feed works well on the NBC Sports channel but you have to sign into your cable provider in order to access the content.
For a casual TV watcher the Roku 2 fulfills all my needs.
I would recommend this to a friend!

So happy that I switched from Dish Network to Roku! It took me a while to take the plunge, but could not be happier! I have a Roku on two TV's. It was so easy and fast to set-up! Never going back to cable or satellite TV!

Cost efficient

I love my Roku. I have sling TV with it and I don't miss cable at all. I went from paying 140 a month with at&t to 60 a month with Internet, Roku, and sling. One of the best decisions I made in a long time, just ask my wife.
