I received the Roku through the sling tv promo. I feel it serves its purpose. It works very well and does a great job streaming. The controls are difficult to use. It gets easier as you use it but the buttons don't always work. The machine doesn't have a shut off.

We've had it now for a month and I'm very pleased for what it is. The streaming is good and the lag time for live viewing is around 45 seconds to a minute and a half. The only issue I have is the infrared. The remote literally has to be directly pointed to the box. The sensor is located just under the light indicator on the far right of the box. I think the placement could have been better thought of, being more center, so that function would be flawless. Other than that, the cost is well worth it as there are streaming channels that are absolutely free without having to purchase. Plenty of interesting movies and shows available and so glad I finally cut the cable.

Had problems with buffering. Cable download speed is 56 Megs per sec. So that was not the issue. Ran an Ethernet cable and all has been fine.

I've had the Roku 2 for about a month and a half now. For the first time in my life I considered canceling my cable. There is so much content you don't have to worry about watching the same show or movie over and over. Also a great feature is the screen mirroring from smart phones or tablet.

Cut cable and bought a Roku. Everything works well and we get what we need, but the only problem is searching. Entering the names is a pain using the arrow keys.

I've had a Roku 2 for a couple weeks now. Overall, I'm very happy with it. Extremely simple set-up, easy interface. The HD really pops. Previously I was using my Wii U to watch Netflix and Hulu on my TV, and switching to the Roku 2's HD image made a huge difference. I haven't even scratched the surface with the available channels and content either. I'm excited to use it more and explore other services.
The one complaint I have is with the remote. For some reason I can't just casually click buttons from my couch in any position--the Roku won't register clicks with the remote unless I really point directly at it and sometimes have to lean in closer. Not sure if that's always the case, but it's something I noticed. Still, not a big deal given its other perks.
