Easy Usage

For such a small device it packs a big punch. Plug and play and you are ready. The android app is a great remote for typing into the search menu. We have 2 devices and when adding a channel to one, it is ready to go on the second. Thanks for a great device.
I have had a couple issues with the unit freezing and rebooting when entering a couple apps. Nothing big.

Time consuming set up

It takes so much time to set up each channel you want, and it doesn't provide local channels as I had hoped! And you still have to pay extra to get a lot of channels, so you could just as well get cable or dish! The only thing we like is there seems to be better streaming and expanded our choices on Netflix!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Works great

I bought the Roku 2 simply because it had VGA out to connect to an older TV and I must say that it works just fine. Although the ROKU 2 is not as high powered as it's bigger brothers, the ROKU 3 & 4, I don't notice any considerable lag. Only two negatives I can mention is that the box can get a little warm and the Netflix app does not allow for switching profiles.

We bought the Roku 2 because we had Netflix and Amazon prime that we were unable to access on TV. we have a fairly new Samsung but it wasn't a smart TV with those features built in. The Roku was extremely easy to set up and easy to use. The only thing is we're now back to three remote controls because you need to switch the source on your TV and then we have a remote for our cable and there's a separate remote for the Roku. Not a major crisis just make sure you keep them all handy. Extremely happy with the purchase, highly recommend it.
