It works well and is easy to use. Although there is a lot of free content, it's not really anything much you want to see so you have to subscribe to a lot of the channels for a monthly a fee. Some shows you can watch season one but then have to pay for season two and beyond. There are plenty of children's shows and channels to choose from.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Love - hate relationship

I have had this Roku 2 for a little over 1 year. The past six months have frustrated the ... out of me. error code 14.40 Annoying Used the "home button 5 times, then Fast Forward, pause, Rev, pause, Fast Forward" trick to get to the programming area to turn off pings. (a suggestion I found after some research) That worked for a while. Then, I was blaming my internet provider, which I now think was a mistake. The Roku device CANNOT remember the IP address. (the MAC address is never lost, though that is what the error code lists as one of the possible problems). My device does not have an Ethernet port. Finally, after spending hours with reboots tonight, I found cables and plugged the into my pc via the HDMI and used the old red/white/yellow plugs to the TV. WELL, Well, well, device says the Wi-Fi is now working (IT IS PLUGGED IN!, I have cords all over the place now, that is not Wi-Fi! It's a mess of wires now, but maybe, if I settle down and stop typing I can relax and enjoy this movie I have been watching in Pieces at a time. This is the first time I ever had to plug it into my PC to get it to work again. I would like to see trade credit in for the newer devices for some of these malfunctioning ones. I don't think I should have to pay full price for being a loyal customer and tolerating the learning curve. Even ten bucks toward a newer model would be nice. Six months ago would have been 5 stars. Loved how much I was saving by terminating cable.

I'm glad I purchased the Roku2. I just wish there was an easier way to type in titles to search that using the remote. I did not know there were so many fees on so many channels.

I have Roku 2 & I think I will return it! It either is reloading all the time or is rebuffering. Yes some channels are free but depending what movie you want to watch, you either have to pay for it or have a subscription. Same commercial over and over again. I do not recommend this. Rather have cable!

I'll never regret getting the Roku. Best device ever for streaming. Streaming is the future and this is the device you want. Saves lots of money on cable bill. Buy it you will love it.

Okay, but problematic and little support

I was given this R2 as an Xmas gift. Does somethings well, but overall I was disappointed and would prefer my old Apple TV if it was still running. Support was extra disappointing.

I had to replace ours do to our older unit would lockup and not function.
