Problem with mobility

I bought this Roku 2 model 4210. At first it looked like it would work great, but if I moved it to another TV it would not work unless I reset it, sometimes I had to reset more than once. Then I realized it was not saving its updates. I go to the update menu, and it will update from version 5 to version 7 in about a minute. Then it restarts, and works great. But, if I unplug it an move it to another TV it is back to version 5 and I have to update it again. I went to Roku support, but there was no FAQ or Troubleshooting information about this problem. I called support twice, was left on hold, gave up. If this Roku is defective, I would like to return it. If this is normal behavior (not saving updates when power is off), then I would like someone to tell me this, and I guess I will have to live with it. It takes about 4 min to go through the update-restart process every time I move it to a new TV.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Glad I have this Roku 2 it is nice to watch shows and know if you had to you can pause plus no commericals

Bought this to take the constant usage away from our PS4. Works decent..services are hit and miss with certain providers (PS Vue has connection issues occasionally and the layout is a little buggy.) Other than that it works. With the correct updates this could be perfect.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Terribly disappointed with Roku 2

Been using Roku 2 for six weeks. Some days it works great, some days it doesn't work at all. Specifically, it will have periods where it won't connect to my wireless network. I even purchased a new router, same reoccurring issue. Secondly, I can do a system update and it will update to newest software version 7.2. Then it will reset back to the old version 5.?. I have NEVER experienced the hit and miss, it works for a couple days then doesn't work, unstable platform with ANY modern device. I wouldn't recommend a Roku to anyone.

Pay for what you need

I can usually find a free movie ,if you want more then rent it , the quality has always been good . There are ads but you get used to them . I have never figured out how to turn off the device with remote so just unplug it

Constant Disconnects and restarts

I bought this about a week ago and was extremely excited to start using it. Unfortunately all I encountered were problems. It wouldn't play anything with constantly buffering or shutting down and restarting. I thought it may have been my router so I bought a better one but it still happened. Netflix wouldn't even play without stopping about every 5 minutes. They played fine on my computer and Xbox though. I ended up sending the Roku back for a refund. I was very disappointed.
