Almost from the beginning of purchase, I had to unplug roku before watching. If not, there would be sound only and a solid purple screen. After a couple of months, I now have to push the reset button to use. Which means I have to re-enter all my passwords. I have 3 roku 1's and they all work perfectly. I have also purchased a steaming stick, it quit working with in a couple of months. So I decided to upgrade to a 2 and it was worse than the streaming stick. I have considered a 3, but not with the luck I'm having with newer versions of roku.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I got this roku just week ago, had roku 3 for another tv, but there is so much difference between the two models. Roku 2 is very slow, remote control isvery clumsy , very slow response from remote. unable to provide hd 1080 and 5.1. If i knew Roku 4 is about to come, i would have never purchased this older model. i wish roku offers return andi can get roku 4

Live streaming NOT GOOD

Had the Roku right next to my modem and it constantly was choppy ..would've rather has dish network on a rainy day sorry but true. Only kept it for a week.

Roku 2 is slow and the remote is the biggest drawback. It's IR so has to be in the line of sight and very close to it. Not liking it at all. I have a Roku 3 as well and that's great.

I bought it a week ago that can you can stream free stuff with you can but 90% of it you gotta pay for what's the difference of having cable

Not impressed with my Roku 2

I recently purchased a Roku 2 to replace my Roku 1. The remote control for the new Roco 2 is a piece of junk. I never had a problem using my Roku 1 but when I use the Roku 2 remote, I have to constantly push the same button over and over and over again in order for it to work. Also, all the shows I watch on the Roku 2 constantly pauses to reload. My Roku 1 rarely ever paused to reload. I plan on returning my Roku 2 and going back to using my Roku 1 because it actually works when I use the remote control and it does not constantly pause to reload movies.

buffers all the time. what a waste of money

I bought the ROKU because my Xbox was buffering Nexflix and Amazon. After setting up the Roku it worked for one day. The next day I had to reset the ROKU and each day after that. It buffers way more than Xbox ever did. In fact. It takes 3 times as long to watch a show due to the buffering.
