Offers a lot of channels

I keep hearing from a lot of Roku users that they love it. So I decided to give it a try...
Generally I say it does not hold a candle to the Amazon Fire TV .I have been an Amazon Fire TV user for a year or more. Very satisfied with the performance and user friendly remote of the Amazon Fire.....
The Roku is much slower than the fire. the menus are more clumsy and difficult to navigate. The thing crashes way too often.
So on a scale of 1 to 10
I give Roku a 2 and Amazon a 9
I think Roku does offer MORE channels than the Amazon fire but I am not sure of it..

I already have a Roku LT that is under-powered and slow. The Roku 2 (2015) doesn't work any better. I am unable to pause shows immediately after starting a show. The player has locked up on me numerous times already. I'm sending it back. The only nice thing about it is the Netflix profiles.

What a horrible waste of money. It doesn't connect to the internet - gives me trouble every time. Wish I would have kept the 'Chromecast' unit instead. This is awful.

Slow response time and ate up bandwidth.

I bought it so I wouldn't have to use my laptop to watch Netflix. The player ate up so much bandwidth while streaming I couldn't use my phone at all while on wifi. I took it back the next day.

Very poor controller

The new Roku 2 is faster than the old Roku 2 I had, but the controlled has been very very disappointing. The old controller could control Roku from any part of the room and didn't even have to be pointed at the unit. This allowed us to place it where it was convenient, behind our tv. Now we have to have it out front, annoyed by the blinking lights, and the controller has to be pointed straight at it. We just don't like it. It looks like we may have to replace it with something more convenient.
