They got rid of the wifi direct remotes....

No wifi-direct remote means you need line of sight to the roku to use the included remote. The whole point of a roku size is to hide it out of sight. This was a huge disappointment and while it is on the website, the lack of this feature is hidden just enough.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Disappointed with video playback file types

I bought this ROKU 2 primarily to play back videos and movies from a hard drive and was very disappointed with the small list of compatible file types. I was hoping it was like the WD TV Live Hub that I use in another room. It works great as a streaming device if that is your only use but it is a disappointment for me.

Sometimes video freezes and I have to unplug the Roku to reboot it to continue watching a show

A great idea for the new wave of tv viewsing

I've had it over a year and love the versatility it gives me at a much less expensive rate than cable or satellite. It doesn't necessarily work with every tv and more channels are pay than I would like, but overall I'm very happy. I only wish pro sports were more available. This revolutionized my viewing and allowed me to watch tv again after years of not having any capability

I bought my Roku 2 two weeks ago and was great choice, but I don't like the commercials in between tv episodes and movies...
