I received our Roku 2 when we purchased Sling TV. We couldn't be happier. Love all the apps and ease of viewing everything with the user friendly remote.

Excellent peice of equipment

This was a gift a year ago and has been the most used piece of equipment we have allowing us to downscale our cable TV to just basic cable since we can get plenty of movies and shows thru Roku providers, also the headphone option on the remote is a definite plus as it allows me to sleep while my wife watches her shows

The updates have made it hard to use..

I got this a year ag- and updates have made it hard, if not almost completely unusable at times. It's glitchy. There are times the 'coming up next' box shows up at the beginning of an episode, and you have to hit back to get it to go away. You hit pause, or home, and the thing continues on for up to 45 seconds before it decides to do either function. It hangs up, and it has to be completely reset.
The 'updates' -which I refer to as 'kill the device so you have to buy another' are doing their job in killing it off slowly.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Replaced Roku basic with Roku 2 and get faster more stable pictures. Am very pleased with newer Roku. White light on front panel stays on for long periods.

Everything you need in a streaming device

I've had every streaming device there is and this one is hands down the best! Voice search is nice and I see where the headphones of the 3 could be useful, I saved a few bucks and got the 2. I couldn't be happier! With plex I can get all my media to the 2 and enjoy it. Best streamer there is at the moment! Keep up the good work Roku!
