I got this for Christmas! It's awesome. Why a 1 star review? No on reads 4-5 star reviews. I have an original Roku! I use it with Plex for an awesome media center. However, if running your own media server isn't what you want, the Roku and Roku 2 support several pay-to-play services like Hulu, Amazon, and Netflix. The only real drawbacks are remote-keyboard interface for things like password entry, and the fact that you don't really know how secure any of your logins are on the device. This turns out to be true for nearly all the alternatives, so it isn't a deal breaker. If the remote were more like a wii-mote, a remote keyboard would be fine. Also, wasn't 100% straight forward getting the device's MAC address. Again, not a deal breaker. The Roku 2 definitely outperforms the original. The price point is pretty well thought out too. This definitely beats the Samsung junk I used to have. The only true gripe was no HDMI cable included. I could have used that.

I brought the Roku 2 about a month and a half. It is awesome. From the kids to my husband and I we love it! I have no interruptions in service, it's fast, easy to install and setup. I would recommend this product to everyone. You are missing out!

Connection to network

I have had no luck connecting to my local network with this particular version. When I use another Roku that is at least 3 years old, it works just fine in the exact location.

A friend talked about how great the roku was so I bought one. I didn't like it, I thought you could watch tv via the internet. Wrong, everything requires a fee or a pass code. I returned it.
