Roku 2 upgrade from the Lt

I upgraded, myRoku Lt was 3yrs old so I got a new one and it's way faster, higher pixels, really glad I got it, works great.

A good all in one media box

I bought this a few weeks ago and everything is great. It's got a ton of good channels and everything I'm subscribed to already is available on the Roku 2. The only problem I've had with it, whether it's an issue with Roku or YouTube, is that any video plays about 1/3 of the way through and then endlessly buffers. I have no problems streaming any other service in HD and YouTube works on everything else I have. I have a 50 MB connection that is hardwired to the Roku so it's not an internet thing. Seems to be an issue specifically with this app.

i received my roku 2 around two yrs now...at first things where great for the first six months or so ....then i would have gave it 5 stars but not now....after 6 months it started over heating i did every thing i could think of to keep it cool ...it started freezing up and i would keep getting the message ...please , wait ...and it would start re-loading the show...now it has gotten much wors i have restarted my router many times to fix the issue...even if my signal strength is showing excellent signal i have this problem ....i watch netflix quite a bit and things getting pretty frustrating at times....i hate it gets over heated so much ...there are no air holes so air can get threw i noticed the bottom gets the hottest so i place it upside down and hope it helps...i have ended up resetting it to factory default so many times its ridiculous...i like roku but the roku 2 is not all that good .....i also have a problem with it dropping the signal far too many times and has to recover too many times ....i cant watch anything on netflix with out it stopping and giving the message pleas wait every 10 sec all through the show from begging to end ....ive contacted netflix so many times about it and they had me delete netflix from roku and reinstall it ...does not help....my signal is strong enough so why the problem....according to netflix for some reason my roku has good signal then suddenly looses the signal and has to recover.... i would like to know why ....if i have good or exellent signal then this should not be happening....for some reason after that first six months things went wrong and only has gotten worse.....and at times the remote becomes unresponsive .
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Easy to Use

I was worried it might be hard to set up but I was able to figure it out fairly easily. The HD picture quality is very good despite our rather slow internet connection.

I bought this particular model because of the review on CNET. It is an awesome little machine, and I got it for under $60. Just wish someone had told me it doesn't have an off switch. Spent an hour trying to find it, finally called a teenager. Old people and technology LOL.

Drastically better than my old Roku 1

I had the original Roku 1. I constantly had problems with the wifi. Don't know if it was because of my router or the Roku but I was constantly rebooting it. Also, it was pretty slow.
I purchased the 2015 Roku 2 with an Ethernet port and a faster processor. It's like night and day. I love it!
