Good Features but lacks browser

I am really happy with the Roku 2 that we got. But the biggest drawback is that there is no internet browser available for free. Also, we need 2 remotes one to control TV and the other to control the Riku box channels/Apps. This sometimes is irritating

This Roku 2 replaced my older Roku 2 XD that is now periodically losing it's network connection. The new unit stays connected fine but periodically drops the sound out for 5 seconds after a quick screen flash. This happens two, sometimes three times a night. And sometimes the sound quality gets scratchy while other times the sound quality is a bit muddy sounding. It's to the point of me sending this unit back, but I just haven't done it (yet).
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We bought the first one to let my wife watch stuff in her office. Our second one was just purchased for the family room so that we could drop cable TV. There are one or two shows that aren't on the Roku, but maybe more services will be added.

So far after two weeks I'm still impressed. They have a ton of content and the player works great. I do get an occasional "freeze" of the system but a quick reboot solves the issue.

ROKU always works but these things hang and need to be rebooted more than they ever did years ago. I have an older ROKU that is at least 5-6 years old and never needed a reset,but it seems these new ones do from time to time. I have to just pull the power plug and the plug it back in. I'd be interested if others are experiencing the same.

Just what I was looking for

I needed a way to receive tv programs over the internet and this exceeded my expectations. I was looking at a similar device and the salesperson recommended this one instead. After seeing what it does and can do and the ease it does it, I'm very impressed especially with the price I paid.
