Very little is "free" after you buy the unit. A lot of channels advertised for free actually are "free with subscription"???? Makes zero sense to buy this unit unless your ready to pay for each show you want or multiple subscriptions to different channel/movie sources. IT'S NOT A SUBSCRIPTION ALTERNATIVE TO CABLE/SATELLITE!!!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I purchased the R2 model a couple of weeks ago and so far I'm satisfied with options and quality. I seem to recall thinking that the set up instructions need a bit of improving but other than that all went well

I got this about two weeks ago and it is just amazing! I love the ease of use of my new Roku. I am not the most proficient at electronic devices, but I could find the channels, movies and streaming music on the Roku so easily. The selection of programming is awesome and I am so glad I got this. Thanks for such a great product!
