Plays the best most popular streaming audio and video channels. Plus, it can play content off a media server in your home. The hot buttons are also convenient to immediately launch your best channels. Great device.

Switched from Apple TV. Ease of use, seemingly more options as I am technically challenged I adore the themes, layout, & color of the screens. Automatically starts the program, less clicks to get where you're going. Really diggin' this new toy.

It is not often now days when you really feel as though you get a true value for your money but for the cost of the ROKU 2 I purchased I am enjoying just that. I enjoy a vast catalog of entertainment that is easy to use and navigate at a fraction of the cost of conventional television services.

Bought this as a Christmas present to myself. It's fun to see how many special interest channels are available. Overall, I like it. The biggest disappointment is that I cannot play movies from my VUDU collection. VUDU speed requirements are 4.5 Mb for HDX (1080p), 2.25 for HD(720p) and 1Mb for SD (480p). If HDX does not work, you do have the option of streaming at a slower speed ie HD or SD. My speed has been tested at 5.12Mb and should therefore be no problem. But mine won't even work at SD level. I live in the country where only DSL is available.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Roku 2 second version

I have both versions of the Roku 2. The second version has a smoother and quicker interface. The remote for the second version does not have the headphone jack. To bad, I like feature.
