Awesome, fun and efficient decice

I bought a roku the other day and I love it. I had an Apple TV before and the roku is so much faster and easier to use.

This is such a great product. I was very impressed at how fast it works when it comes to loading movies and programs. I only had it for 2 weeks but it's a joy to have.

Streams well, but...

Read differing reviews and the Roku 2 seemed like the player for me. So far it has worked fairly well with a few minor issues.
The first issue was the unit froze in the home screen and became unresponsive.
2nd issue is white spots that dance around the screen when streaming from Amazon.
Last issue is streaming from an iPhone which I knew was not supported but it would be nice if it could "mirror" like the Apple TV.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Just great .... WHEN IT WORKS !!!

I bought this gadget just over a week ago and initially it worked just fine ... with one major exception. Nowhere on the unit itself, or on the remote control, is there any means of turning the system OFF when not in use ... and no mention of any such action in the skimpy instruction leaflet ! Usage over that first week "appears" to indicate that the device actually "puts itself to sleep" after some indeterminate period of time ... but I'm still not sure.
Shortly after the end of that first week or so of usage, the remote control ceased to have any control over the activity on screen ! No matter which remote unit button was pressed, the programme on the TV kept on playing ... the only way to "shut it off" was to switch the TV itself off. This has occurred several times without warning and the corrective action is to start all over again ... even unplugging the ROKU unitfrom its' power source. Totally unacceptable when ones spouse tends to be "electonics illiterate" and goes into panic attacks.

Fairly Simple to Use

Set up instructions are simple. Neat little gadget. Different way to watch tv but we like it verses paying a monthly cable bill

Excellent device! Works so well with my Motorola SBG6400 cable modem/router. The speed is unbelievable! Buffering is only minimal.

Received this as a Christmas gift. I had heard of Roku before, but didn't think it had very many options available. I was wrong. Lots of options available for download such as music, television, movies, and more.
