Unfortunately I bought the ROKU-1 and after several days of arguing with the Tech dept I became convinced the model 1 had software issues. By upgrading to the ROKU-2 those issues immediately went away.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I have intermittent troubles with the unit,I believe it gets hot and starts functionin in properly

I needed to choose a primary device to replace my cable box as it is phased out from my home. With three televisions and a variety of users, I chose the Roku for the simple consistency of its user interface, and the availability of the services I wanted to watch. So far so good, my Roku 2 (4210R) has been fast and reliable, with a great picture, and it's spectacularly easy to use. (Which my family appreciates.) I especially like products that do what they're designed to do, and do it very well... The Roku fits nicely into this category of workhorse devices that I especially appreciate.
