Revitalized my old TV into a Smart TV!

I have a 50" plasma flat-screen TV that I bought back in 2004. It's been a good TV but it is one of the old "dumb" generation. It's so old that it only has a single DVI port and no HDMI or other modern ports. Heck, it does 720p and 1080i (yes, "i" for interlaced instead of "p" for progressive).
I installed the Roku2 about 2 weeks ago and also bought an HDMI to composite converter box. The conversion is necessary to get the signal into the TV.
The Roku2 has allowed my old TV to leapfrog my newest TV (a 50" LG with all the smarts built in). I use the hardwired connection instead of wifi to eliminate any potential problems with poor reception.
Buffering has been almost non-existent. Picture quality is excellent. Sound quality is excellent. I'm really happy I bought this unit.

Best birthday gift EVER!

We are so excited to have this little box in our house. There is a huge selection of channels for adults and kids. Hubby and I like A&E, History, HGTV and several of the news stations. My little ones love PBS Kids, Disney Junior and Nick Jr. I love having TV without tons of commercials (some channels do have commercials, but not nearly as many as live TV.)

I do wish that we had purchased this a long time ago. Navigating between programs isn't as convenient as satellite tv but well worth saving $140 a month.

Bought the Roku as an alternative to Apple TV. So glad I did! Has the same features and then SO Many more!!! The price is great too! Love the Roku!

Duel band works well for us

We upgraded our old Roku's to the duel band 2. Now we can both stream at the same time on different bands. You need a good dual band router and good internet speed.
