I like that the app gives you the same features as the Roku 3
I like being able to get on my account from my PC to customize the channels
I have been wondering how to pull the plug on cable but I realize I would still have to pay for an internet connection and I would lose my NFL redzone plus if I add in subscriptions to HBO,Showtime etc.. I'm paying the same monthly amount while losing my DVR and WHOLE house ability.While I'm not tied to my little local phone cooperative I would lose a bunch of discounts for having multiple services. I'm still running the numbers.

I got this as a gift, and it's the best thing ever. I don't have cable, so it's nice being able to use my Netflix, Hulu and Amazon prime accounts on my tv.

I upgraded to Roku2 and it is much better and the quality much better than the basic one. I have had problems though and regularly have to reboot the player because of it stopping in the middle of watching movie...sometimes even that does not work and I need to reboot modem/router as well as the player...that will last for awhile and then process needs to be repeated.
I would recommend this to a friend!
