Like it. Wish it worked more consistently

I like it. Great content and features. It randomly has connectivity issues though that are maddening. For no apparent reason it just has trouble streaming at least once a week. Have tried boosting wifi and resetting. Gone through support websites. Still having issues. Probably going to ditch it for another similar device.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I've tried them all and roku is the best by far! I am a die hard apple fan and like roku better than the Apple TV!

No more cable!

I wanted to ditch cable/satelite tv for something cheaper. This roku has lots of free channels for movies and such, plus lots of sites to pay. I am very happy with the Roku 2, however, I like the HD stick roku better. Great product as long as you have fast internet speed. Darn, can't get away from that bill. Also, don't know how much value it will have when internet providers start limiting the data usage (ours doesn't right now but I noticed a limit(250 Gb) that is not being invoked yet). On the data usage it shows with all the streaming our house does on the netflix and roku box we flew past that limit in about 13 days. Our tv and kid's tv are always on and streaming.

I have had my Roku for a month and I love being able to see what I want when I want to. There are so many choices and free movies and channels.

Overall the functionality of this player is fine and the improved processor speed makes for a smooth picture as well as easy navigating through the different apps.

Roku Shortfalls

Roku does not even have a sleep/shutdown option. I do not want to leave any electronic item turned on regardless of how low it is drawing electricity.
Secondly Netflix (and other programs?) have no program/movie search function! Simply unacceptable.
Roku get it together and send all of us a software update.

Because I goofed and didn't buy a smart TV for my sewing room, the Roku 2, saved my "sanity" with me now be able to once again watch Netflix!
