Doesn't take forever to re-set itself.

I had Tivo for years and loved it, but decided to ditch cable and get a Roku. I'm glad I did. Now I only pay for what I watch. For those who aren't aware, Tivo takes FOREVER to re-set itself if it gets locked up. I love that Roku does it in seconds!

After about a month of use, I can say that Roku still is a good purchase for our daily TV habits. So far, we used Roku for streaming movies and music. Some of the pros are: great selection of materials (free and charge) and channels, easy to use and install, fast download.
Some of the cons are: it requires a credit card number when registering - I should be able to enter a c.c. when I need to do so not at the time of registering, froze movie when rewinding it, great selection of materials and channels (takes time to select what to watch).
Not a con but a mental adjustment: We learned that we need to exit the movie/show and go "Home" when transitioning from Roku to TV or Roku will continue the move/show while we use the TV.
I would recommend this to a friend!

We've had Roku since January 6th 2016 and we love it! We have been scaling back on expenses in our home for 25 years and during this time we have not had cable. With our close proximity to the city we get all the major networks but no access to cable entertainment. Roku lets us choose what we want for a minimal fee. Very happy with our TV options now.
