New to Roku

Got my Roku2 as part of Sling service. I have it wired to cable internet service (very fast). Roku works great but will all of a sudden go black and say that there is trouble with this channel. Not sure if it is the app (Sling) or the device. So far so good though.

Good content, Hardware could use improvement

The content selection is good, and menu is relative easy to navigate and use. I have two Roku 2 units tested with wireless and wired sources. The streaming module is very sensitive to heat-up. The heat-up affects streaming to the point of significant buffering. One module works fine with wireless and wired sources as long as the module is in the open air and sitting on a small surface. The other module works best with a wired source in the open air and sitting on a small surface. A vented body would be an improvement. The bottom of the module is the hottest surface and has a rubber surface, which is good for not sliding, but not as good for keeping the module cool.

The Picture is very clear. The streaming is incredibily fast compared to when I had to use my wii. I love everything about it!

Awesome Streaming Device

My contract ended with my cable provider and I decided to purchase a Roku 2 streaming device and cancel my cable, I was paying way too much for my cable. I purchased it about 2 weeks ago and I love it, I literally cut my cable bill more than half with Sling and Netflix and I am still getting mostly all of the TV channels that I was getting with cable TV and not to mention all of the free TV that comes with the Roku. I am 150% satisfied with my Roku 2.

Great product - remote control lacking

Very happy with my Roku 2. Interface easy to use. However, the remote lacks 3 features that would really make Roku outstanding. 1) the ability to control volume 2) the ability to turn on/off my TV And 3) the ability to either run OTA broadcasts through Roku or the ability to change TV inputs. Without these features, I am burdened with always having to have 2 remote controls in my hand to change streams and adjust volume for each feed.
