Very happy with the Roku 2 player.I will be saving over $75.00 each month using a Roku,wish I had done this a year ago.It has only been @2 weeks but love the usefulness of this little box...

This is seriously amazing! I can watch my own shows and not have to fight anyone for the tv.. I have Netflix on my phone and this is so much more convient.

I purchased the Roku 2 after cancelling my cable. I already had a chromecast, but having to use my phone to cast to the tv was inconvenient. I took a chance and went with the Roku 2. It was simple to install and I love having a remote!

I originally bought this to put in my 4 year olds room, but ended up using it in our bedroom as a alternative to another cable. You can link it with your cable provider and access all your current channels plus all the features roju offers.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Giant bills no more

After getting everything setup with my new roku. I couldnt be happier with it. I am able to get the premium channels that i loved on cable tv. However, i am not gettin the giant bill, or the other 150 channels that noone watches anyway. With cable they give you choices, but with roku i have the ability to only order the channels important to me. No more channel surfing, because every channel i have, i personally ordered because it was exactly what i watched. Dont get me wrong, there are plenty of channels to choose from. More than cable as a matter of fact. Its just a cool option to simplify my tv by only ordering the channels that i watch constantly. And for a lot less than cable.

Disappointment. Buggy lock up. Unwanted ads

I was upgrading from a WDTV live, thinking something more recent would offer decent playback. Within the first hour the remote quit working. After playing with the batteries and checking everything else I had to unplug and replug in the box. It would do this sporadically for the next several days.
There are unwanted ads or plugs from HBO on the right. A setting says you can turn it off on the home screen, but if you want to access channels it is always in the sidebar. The last thing I want my kids to see is an advertisement for 50 shades of grey or magic mike. Extremely disappointing that these cant be completely removed. I'm sure the channels pay big money to spam it onto every screen.
Netflix had terrible quality and would cut out. No issues with my WDTV live.
I bought this for the USB media feature. Every time it played a video there was no sound. I had to go into the features every time and select an audio track to get it to start with sound.
Returned it. Got an Apple TV. No regrets. Big let down from Roku.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

App Runs Faster Than On My SmartTV

I got the Roku 2 as part of a promo with Sling International TV program. I am pleasantly surprise to see that Netflix and YouTube apps both run much faster on Roku 2 than the one that runs on my SmartTV. Other than this box lacks a power button to power on/off, I am happy with its performance
