a few problems.

My first few days, my player did great. A few days later the streaming began to halt, stop and reload. Now the picture breaks up and the player just shuts down. This happens often enough to be annoying. Also there are not that many free channels, if you are looking for free tv, you might want to look elsewhere.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I got this a couple weeks ago..its very easy to setup, i did not even use the directions i just plugged it up and the rest was self explanatory. The only con i found is it does not tell you in the book that you dont turn it off,its always on using very little electricity so it can stay updated....but i had to google it to find that out.
I would recommend this to a friend!

works much better than the roku stick

had a rolu stick which kept disconnecting, traded up to the roku 2, which works much better. i believe that the stick which plugged into the back of the tv, did not work well because of interference. the roku 2 sets in front of the tv and gets better reception

Bought my first Roku 2 a year ago, just got my second. I plan on putting them in all my rooms with a TV. I dumped cable a few weeks ago and don't miss it at all. Roku doesn't push any content down your throat (like some of the other streaming devices) Love the smart buttons. Very easy to navigate and the search feature is fantastic, lets you search a title on all your apps. I've avoided paying a rental fee on a movie that was "free" with a subscription.

Very fast .. With light remote control and shortcut buttons .. but I feel that the remote is not responding very fast and should be pointed exactly to the box to operate properly.

The unit operates as advertised, but for me, is less convenient. After being plugged into a power source for a while it gets very, very hot! The Roku unit I had before did not heat up like this, and I used to leave it plugged in, making it always available.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
