My son loves playing with his tablet. He learned how to say certain words and form sentences. His favorite game is the cooking demo game, I love that I can set a timer on the device and I can monitor what he does.
Pros: Educational, Fun for kids, Good for on-the-go play, Grows with child

Best. LeapFrog Tablet. Yet!

I've had this tablet for a few weeks now letting my 2-year-old and 5-year-old explore it. Like any other leapfrog tablet you can have different log ins so they each have their own settings. I have chosen to give my 5-year-old more apps and restrict my 2-year-old to just a few. By far their favorite feature is the LeapSearch app, where they can watch YouTube videos, play on websites like PBS Kids and more all within a preset child-friendly system. Since they are so young I restricted them both from the web app which allows free web search.
Another great feature with these rough little guys, the kid-tough durability of the new LeapFrog Epic to allow them to play this on their own without having to monitor every minute of their time with the tablet. The home screen is customizable to each child's interests & super easy for the kids to navigate. My 5-year-old loves to check the weather report that is displayed on his home screen.
Unlike other LeapFrog tablets the Epic does not take game cartridges!! No more searching for games! Instead, it comes pre-installed with over 20 games and apps for kids with others available to download from the app store. Some of my kids' favorites include: Turbo Racing Team, Disney Octonauts Learning Game, & Splurgle. There is also the ability to download Android games and apps for kids!! This allows the boys to now install some of their favorite Android apps! Just like previous LeapFrog tablets and game systems, the games installed on the Epic are created to encourage learning & support critical thinking.
*Disclosure: I was provided a LeapFrog Epic for review purposes, however ALL opinions are 100% my own!
Pros: Fun for kids, Grows with child, Good for on-the-go play, Educational

Finally a true tablet experience for kids!

We have tried nearly all the Leappads, and each one gets a little bit better. We've honestly loved them, but my kids usually prefer to play on our ipad over the Leappad because it was super user friendly with really clear graphics. However ipads are way more expensive and definitely NOT kid proof and the games are mostly not educational. So we really hoped Leapfrog would come out with something similar to an ipad someday. The Epic is it! My kids fought over it when it arrived so much that I barely had a chance to try it myself. They loved the games and the graphics were so much clearer. It's a great size for kids to hold, extremely kid-proof, and comes with over 20 preloaded games. It doesn't take any of the cartridges, so basically you have to just see it more like an Android tablet or something. It even has games similar (or maybe the same, I'm not sure) as comes on Android tablets. But overall, this is the leapfrog product to get your kids this year. I can't wait to test it on a long car ride, to see how long it captivates them and how they will be able to use it. One of my favorite parts about it was that you can customize the home screen and interact with it...seems way more kid friendly than any other device. Your kids will definitely love this one!

A whole lot of fun in a safe tablet!

The all-new Epic Tablet from LeapFrog is full of fun! LOVE that it's android compatible. LOVE that it's 16G, which makes it super fast. LOVE that it has a protective "case" around it. LOVE that it has (good) front and rear cameras. LOVE that it's soooo user friendly. My 7-year old turned it on and was playing (and learning!) in no time!
We have pretty much every LeapFrog product, but this one shot to the top of our list of faves. In fact, I can't think of anything negative to say. And, I know it should definitely be on every kid's Christmas list. Totally recommend.
***I received this item free-of-charge, in exchange for an honest review.***

And LeapFrog Does it Again...

I received a LeapFrog Epic Tablet free of charge for review purposes. All opinions and experiences are my own.
Wow, having been a LeapFrog customer and fan for nine years now, I'm constantly impressed and pleased with the progress they make in their products. Safe, tech-savvy fun for kids is such a huge priority in our house, and I couldn't be more pleased that LeapFrog delivers that in a whole new way with the Epic.
Things our family loves (kids ages 4, almost 7, 9): - A sturdy, full-experience tablet: My boys are HARD on things (we're working on it...) and I'm always nervous about allowing them to use our grown-up devices. The Epic has a screen that's proven to be unbreakable, and the plastic cover gives all of us peace of mind. - A more grown-up experience: The Android OS, high-resolution screen, 16GB storage, wall charger, and so much more make this tablet cool enough for even my oldest to fight for. - New game/engagement opportunities: With access to popular Android apps, a web browser with parental controls that can be adjusted as kids grow, and no need for game cartridges this feels much more like an on-the-go tablet that can grow up even longer with my kids. (My boys couldn't be more thrilled to have Doodle Jump at a moment's notice!) - Multiple profiles and parental controls: A 4- and 9-year old experience tech in very different ways and it's great that each child can have a very individual, age-appropriate engagement with a single device. (A family iPad leads to all kinds of arguing when a 4yo messes with a "big kid" game...none of that here!)
Challenges we've experienced: - Not being Android users prior to this, each of us found the disappearing navigation to the home screen VERY perplexing. (Not at all like past LeapPads.) We're learning to swipe down to get it to appear, but it feels inconsistent and unnatural...especially for little ones. - At one point our apps disappeared, but when we restarted the device, they were back.
Overall, I'm truly pleased with the Epic and would even consider purchasing one for each child at this price point.
Pros: Fun for kids, Grows with child, Good for on-the-go play, Educational

though it says expandable it's not! you can not put apps on sd card. I spent a lot of money on apps that I can not download for lack of space. the videos keep saying drm failed so he is not able to watch them. his icons cut out so you have to shut down and restart every day. not worth the money at all. 5 year old in tears

Must Have Tablet For Kids!

Disclosure: I received a copy of this game to facilitate my review, however, all opinions are my own and I was not required to give a positive review.
Technology is a wonderful thing! It helps kids learn, people stay connected and parents discover the best ways to get things done to name a few things! My kids love tablets for games and videos, and my older children often work on school projects on a tablet. Not only is the tablet durable enough for a 3 year old, but as your little one is ready to explore more than games, the LeapFrog epic is ready to give them a safe browsing experience that is uncomplicated!
The screen is a generous 7 inches and the Epic has a 16G memory, which is really impressive for any tablet, and especially spectacular for one geared at kids!
We have been thrilled with the LeapFrog Epic! It is perfect for all of my kids and their different needs for technology. I would highly recommend this tablet! In fact, we are looking to invest in 2 more so everyone has their own LeapFrog Epic!
Pros: Fun for kids, Grows with child, Good for on-the-go play, Educational
