Great Indoor Grill System

I really like the easy clean up feature, slip the plates off, once they cool, and put in the dishwasher. This grills chicken, pork, salmon, and steaks with ease. All the food is moist and tender. This indoor grill will replace my outdoor grill. I plan to use the outdoor grill only for the rotisserie feature of it. I am planning on ordering the griddle and omelet plates. A GREAT product... the Evlove Grill System is easy to use and easy to clean.

My husband loves it.

My husband has used G.F. Grills since they came out. Going from the small one to the large. The last one was much like this one only round. He used it so much and for so long the hinge finally broke. As for myself, I like the removeable plates.

I don't like the ceramic plates

I would love my Evolve grill if the basic plates were not ceramic. I have had several regular G.F. grills that were non stick plates, but not removable and no temp. adjustment. The ceramic plates stick badly if I season my meat before cooking(which I like to do),and I like to spray with cooking spray which your instruction advises against. Also, the Sear function takes too long to preheat - about 12 minutes or more. Do you make just plain non-stick plates for it, upper and lower? I would be interested in getting them.

This "grill" has not really grilled for me yet, it actually steams the food to cook it! I didn't want to believe the "steaming" reviews from other review sites, but it is true. Unless there is some other trick to actually grill the food, I will return it. My old GF grill worked perfectly to grill food, it's just falling apart after 10 years. Also, this new grill takes FOREVER to heat up, 7-8 minutes just to get to 400??? Unacceptable in 2015, in fact I don't think I would accept in 1995. I am considering returning.

Hinge flaw
on April 3, 2015

This model is still unique. I haven't found another on the market with the searing feature. The only issue i have is with the hinge mechanism. While set in the tilted position, the lid will slide forward pushing the meat off the grill. The older design (GFSG80) was still better at cooking and heated faster but lacked the removable/cleanable plates which are great.

The Muffin Tin

This grill works well with meats and I'm happy with those results but today I decided to try out the muffin pan. That doesn't work as well.
It really takes quite a long time to bake these muffins. If you don't have a regular oven (like say on a camping trip in a trailer) this will do in a pinch but for regular use forget it. Use your oven. It'll save time (and probably electricity since you can do 12 at one time!)
