Nice solid camera

This is my first Samsung camera. It seems very sturdy, maybe a bit on the heavy side. Pictures are very nice. This camera has many creative choices and would be a good choice for an intermediate/advanced beginner. The one feature which is a bit annoying is that the pop-up flash is on the left side where people usually put their finger on to hold the camera. Other than that, I would recommend this camera. Wi-fi is an added plus which is handy.
Pros: Durable
Cons: pop-up flash in the wrong place.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This camera has great features

I bought a camera like this several years ago. It has been stolen, and I loved it so much I bought another one just like it. The main thing I love about this camera is the touch screen. You can send photos to an email address, instant messaging, etc.
The photos and videos are clear.
The only problem I am having, which is more than likely user error, is the time between when the shutter button is pressed from the time it actually takes the photo.
Other than that, this is an awesome camera.
Pros: Durable, Lightweight, touchscreen
I would recommend this to a friend!

Best point shoot I have ever had.

This camera is by far the best point and shoot camera I have ever had. It's a smart camera so it's great for today's time where everything is on the internet. Easy to use and the cost to quality is well worth it. I've had it for about a month and about to take a week long hiking/camping trip. Looking forward to all the great pics.
Pros: Inexpensive, Realistic color, Bright display, Built-in speakers, Durable, Lightweight
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great features, but one major gripe

Great camera for the price!
One MAJOR quibble!
Camera does not have an extra-extra-fine, or super-fine, or RAW, or TIFF, or even BMP setting.
I am using an old NIKON 8 megapixel that does have a higher setting.
It's file size at 8 megapixel highest quality is about the same size as this camera's 16.3 megapixel files! (around 5 or 6 meg, which would be around 4 or 5 compression versus 8 to 10 on this new Samsung camera).
The NIKON 8800 when saving files at the next lower level, at about half the size, did not have the quality that the extra-extra-fine had. That highest quality made it hard to tell the difference in the JPG versus the TIFF (and the TIFF was about 10 times slower!).
This camera needs about double the file size to store all the detail for the 16.3 megapixel sensor.
Then it would be a five star camera!
Samsung: I bought a Samsung 32-gig microSDHC Pro card.
This camera can take 3,500 pictures on this card at the highest quality and biggest size!
Why not about half as many pictures and double the file size, and get the pictures quality worthy of a 16.3 megapixel camera? Please don't try to save space when cards now have such humongous capacity!)
Please add the option (preferably in a firmware update that I can retroactively add to my camera!)
Additional recommendations:
Have an indicator LED that shows the camera is plugged into the charger and is fully charged (all that happens now is that red light goes out, which is also what happens if one of the plugs breaks connection and the camera is not really plugged in).
Make a dedicated face-recognition icon on the display, so it can be simply turned and off at the touch of an icon, instead of using the menu system.
Otherwise, this is one bodacious camera compared to the 11-year old cameras that I have been using!
Especially the facial recognition and red-eye reduction.
The previously mentioned NIKON 8800 did NOT have facial recognition, and did a fantastic job of focusing on the background instead of the people in the foreground that I was trying to take pictures of!
And it had a triple red-eye reduction flash, with the last one that took the picture coming so far after the first ones that people would think it was done and would already be turning away when the actual flash went off. This new camera's pre-flash and flash are very close together, and works great!
-Thank you!
Pros: Bright display, Inexpensive, Realistic color
Cons: Not high def, needs bigger file size for best quality
I would recommend this to a friend!

This camera has a touch screen option!

I'm still getting to know my new Samsung WB380F and so far I love it! It has the option of using touch screen functions just like my old camera and my pictures have turned out great! This camera is a little larger than most point and shoots and it has some heft to it and I really like that. The 21x zoom is perfect and very steady, my old camera only had 8x zoom and was good, but this really gets you a clear and close shot. I'm giving it 4 stars because I haven't really taken her out for a good spin! So far I am very pleased, Thank you Samsung!
Pros: Inexpensive, Bright display, Durable, touch screen
Cons: none yet
I would recommend this to a friend!
