Happy go lucky!

I'm very pleased with my Epson printer. Early-on had trouble with the printer. I contacted Epson and they declaired it defective and over-nighted a new printed to me. Less than a Month later a similar problem occured to that printer and the same thing, once I contacted Epson, without hesitation they shipped another printer over night to meet my business needs. This printer has been working great since. That was about 1 year ago.
I do find the ink cartidges expensive, because I pront alot of greeting cards...but they look really good!

What they didn't tell me

Needs special Epson paper for photos. Streaks and white blobs and blotches occurred when I tried to use the normal glossy paper I had from before.
There's way too much to know when it comes to setting it up.
Printing speed in color is great, but so what if the graphics look rotten?
I miss my old printer.

Good for the Price

The printer construction seems a bit flimsier than the printer I had for five years. It took more effort than I wanted to expend to make it compatible with an old laptop, but eventually I got it with a bit of help from a tech at a store. I am still learning all the tricks to use its full scope of features.

Excellent set up instructions and installation disc. I was able to install seamlessly and I am not tech literate. I couldn't believe how smoothly it went. Kudos to your product designers!

Wireless "automatic" set-up did not work, assigned "fax" to the IP address, and won't print. No sign of "Bonjour" appearing in the choices of printers to add. And no instructions on troubleshooting. Adding printer to network from the printer itself? Well, the printer says it's added, but none of the printers in the house see it. Waste. Of. My. Precious. Time.

Set-Up --> Why is the "BACK" button grayed-out?

My rating of 3 stars is for the installation of the printer only, not the actual installed printer.
I just finished setting up my brand new WF-4630. The reviews I read online before purchasing the printer indicated that the major issue with the printer was its cumbersome set-up. I agree--it is cumbersome. I hope that this review may help others with potential set-up issues.
Initially, the installation went well. After downloading the installation/set-up pack from Epson's site, I double-clicked on the downloaded file to unzip it and install the drivers. I stepped thru the program's set-up screens without issue until I got to a screen asking how I wanted to connect my computer to the printer. I selected Wireless. The set-up program then instructed me to go to the printer and, using its touch screen, select an icon which would allow the printer and the computer to talk to each other.
Here's the problem--I couldn't see the icon that the set-up program instructed me to select. Now that I've completed the set-up, in retrospect, I see the problem. Step #2 of the printer's set-up instruction sheet says, "Select your language, country, date and time [on the printer's screen]." But it doesn't tell you how to do this. I know it seems like it should be obvious, and, maybe it is to most, but not to me. The printer's default language is English, so seeing English selected on the printer's screen, I attempted push the "Enter" button, except there was no Enter button . There were a couple of buttons that looked like an "Enter" button might, but when I pushed them, the screen on the printer said that that option was invalid. The trick, which is now obvious--even to me--is that it is a touch screen. You confirm your selection by touching the screen, not by pushing a physical button. It took me a couple of minutes to figure this out (Okay, more than a couple of minutes.) Once I finished entering language/date/time, the "set-up" icon for which that I was looking was displayed on the touchscreen, and I selected it. I and the printer were now ready to proceed with set-up. However, in the interim, the set-up program on my computer had decided that too much time had expired and therefore the wireless set-up option must not work for my install. The set-up program instructed me to select either USB or Ethernet as an alternative set-up method. Except I didn't want to use USB or Ethernet. I wanted to use wireless, and I was going to use wireless. All I needed to do, I thought--silly me--was to go back one screen on the set-up program, and retry the wireless set-up option. Then, all would be right. However, which I attempted to do this, I discovered that the set-up program wouldn't let me go backwards. THE "BACK" BUTTON WAS GRAYED OUT!!! After much yelling at the computer, which didn't help by the way, the only work around that I could figure out was to redo the whole set-up procedure by double-clicking the downloaded file from the Epson site.
I actually had go through this "redo" process a couple of times. For example, the printer needed a passcode for my router. By the time I retrieved the passcode, the set-up program had once again decided that too much time had expired and therefore told me to try USB or Ethernet.
Eventually, I entered all of the required information using the printer's touch screen, not the computer. Once, the printer was connected to my router (and therefore my network), I selected in the set-up program, on my computer, the option to set-up a printer that was already connected to the network. Once I did this the set-up was easy and successful.
In summary, the set-up would have been much much easier if the Epson programmers had simply not grayed out the "Back" button but allowed the user to go back and retry the wireless set-up. When setting up this model printer, I recommend using the touchscreen on the printer to enter as much information as possible. (As stated above, I was able to connect the printer to the router using only the printer's touchscreen.) Then, and only then, use the set-up/installation program on your computer. If you have problems, as I did, you can restart the install process by double clicking the downloaded installation file (or the zipped file that's on the CD installation disk that came with your printer) and starting the installation process anew.
By the way, just printed a test photo and it looks great!
