So far so good - bought instead of color laser!

Thought I wanted a color laser, but I also have a great EPSON at my office (to print on CD/DVDs) that has never failed me. So when I thought I wanted a color laser, I looked at several brands. Then found this Epson WF Pro 4630 with as-close-to-laser printing as you can get, and if the ink ratings are correct, it will be cheaper to operate than a laser might be.
Then when I started to compare higher end ink jets, I seriously considered another brand - but found they don't have a separate back sheet-feed, only the ADF. That was a deal breaker for me. This WF 4630 has everything you could want, and more, and hopefully lower operating costs.
Only minor issue so far is lack of documentation re: connectivity. Install CD worked great on various laptops. Not as easy to find how to connect to various tablet / phone devices (current info online not correct for Kindle Fire HD). There is no Epson App in the Kindle Amazon store (even when searching specifically for EPSON) and another printer app found there didn't have this printer listed. Also, according to control panel on printer I have to choose between connecting over Wi-Fi or using Wi-Fi direct. Can't use both at different times. Also have yet to see where it explains how to email to the printer. Found EPSON app fine in Google Play store, and works great with one tablet. My Android phone version of what seems to be the same app however, seems to think there are only 3 types of paper (no plain paper) and since plain is what the printer says it has, my phone won't print. I'll get it straightened out!
Print quality is EXCELLENT so far!
Hope that the ink holds up and doesn't cost a fortune - but I have NOT run out of the sample ink during set up or playing around printing from various devices.
This review is right after registering the device, BTW, so no chance as of yet to talk about ink use or longevity.
Hope this is helpful to other who read reviews before purchase, as I do!

Borderless printing

We purchased two 4630's to replace two Xerox laser printers, that print proposals and photo's. We were under the opinion that this printer would do what we want and the menu verified that fact. However the updated software omitted the borderless option check box. Several email and phone calls to Epson were never responded to with the how to print borderless. Tech support in June was to notch. The calls to tech support in August fell to a second party that did not know the printer.

Lots of functionality with high quality prining

I've been using this printer for about 2 months. It does a great job printing as well as scanning and copying. the color quality is excellent. The inks come out dry. if you use quality paper there is no problem with Jamming. It is the best printer that I have owned ever.

Very happy with my Epson

My old Epson died and I replaced it with the 4630. I was happy with the old one and this new one met my requirements of printing on thick card stock. The design of the paper feed makes it possible. Well, it does an excellent job of meeting that requirement and a whole lot more. What a great printer and FAST too. The quality of the output is excellent. The software that comes with it is so easy to follow and so it gets big points in the "user friendly" category too.

iMac El Capitan Version 10.11.1 Compatibility?

When attempting to download driver for WF-4630 the driver was not found. I got message: Not available for EL CAPITAN. Is that true?

One Year -- then out

This worked great for about a year (extent of warranty).
Then the print heads started clogging. Every attempt suggested by Epson service did not work.
So -- great printer -- if you want to replace in about a year.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Excellent Mini-Office Work Horse

Wifi or Cable connected, phone, tablet, pc or laptop compatible, Dual Side printing and scanning, fax capable, usb printing capable, color/b&w,...it does almost everything you need to get a mini company starting or for a home use were you need all these functions on just one device.... Love It!

Work Force 4630 EASY to set-up

Any time I introduce a new piece of equipment into our office environment I get nervous. But, having read quite a number of positive reviews online about the WF-460 I was cautiously optimistic. Setup was fast and straightforward. Wireless printing from laptops and iphones works perfectly. What's not to love?
